Pierce Brosnan doesn't seem able to let his former 007 persona go.
The Bond star has just signed up to play a spook in new film Spy Vs Stu, straight after playing an ageing spy having a nervous breakdown in hit comedy The Matador.
The New Line movie is about a commitment-phobe who plans to finally propose to his girlfriend while on a luxury tropical holiday. But sadly for him, there’s a sexy but bored spy also staying on the island (that'll be Pierce then) who has just finished saving the world and decides to celebrate by wooing Stu’s would-be missus.
Inevitably this leads to a competition to see whether the ordinary bloke or the cool secret agent can win the girl.
There's no director yet, but filming is due to start next year. Meanwhile, Daniel Craig had better hold onto his new job - it looks like Pierce is reluctant to relinquish his license to kill.

The World Premiere of Casino Royale, the 21st James Bond adventure, will be launched this week, starring the highly acclaimed Daniel Craig. Although there have been doubts as to Craigs ability to pull off the roll, it seems the media are really beginning to lap up his image, and embrace him as the new 007. They say this will be " The darkest Bond to date. " Now, when I heard that I must say I felt like a few Martinis. Shaken, not stirred.
Apparantley Clive Owen was offered the leading role originally, but turned down the part claiming " Craig will make a better Bond. " Now, I'm a fan of Clive Owen. I think he's a fantastic actor and he's finally taken the hot seat in Hollywoods' leading talent. When I first found out Owen had been chosen to play Bond I was ecstatic. But, to my suprise, every time I walk passed a bus shelter, eyeing that Casino Royale poster, I found myself agreeing with Owens statement. Browsing the internet earlier today, I came across this site: www.danielcraigisnotbond.com " Wow " I thought to myself, picturing the underground fan boys with their gigantic life-sized Pierce Brosnan Posters " These people have alot of hatrid here." Look around the site, I thought it was pretty amusing. |
